The Senate Committee on Indian Affairs is convening for the first time under Republican leadership in the 119th Congress.
The committee’s organizational business meeting takes place on Wednesday afternoon in Washington, D.C. Three items are on the agenda:
Selection of the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Committee;
Adoption of the rules of the Committee for the 119th Congress;
Adoption of the funding resolution for the Committee for the 119th Congress.
As previously confirmed by the U.S. Senate following the opening of the 119th Congress on January 3, Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) is serving as chair of the committee following her stint as vice chair during the last legislative session. Sen. Brian Schatz (D-Hawaii), who served as chair during the last session, will be the vice chair.

Democrats lost one seat on the committee now that they are the minority party in the Senate. The Democratic members of Indian Affairs for the 119th Congress follow:

The organizational meeting is being held at 2:30pm Eastern in Room 628 of the Senate Dirksen Office Building. A livestream is expected to be available on indian.senate.gov.
