Round Dance at Fortune Bay

Good Morning everyone,

I just wanted to send a reminder that this Saturday is the Round Dance at Fortune Bay!

A Round Dance is a popular Cree celebration that has been adopted by a lot of plains tribes. It is meant to be a community gathering and celebration. A group of hand drum singers will sing Round Dance songs in the center of the room while community members can join in by dancing around them in a two-step. It is a fun, casual event. People can wear whatever they want, similar to being an audience member at a powwow. Sometimes women like to wear ribbon skirts, and men like to wear ribbon shirts, but there is no dress code. It should just be a fun night to get together to eat, dance, and hang out with friends and family. Everyone is welcome
